Militare ordine collare The Military Order of the Collar (Militare Ordine del Collare, MOC) Charitable Foundation is a UK registered charity (reg. 1044060) for the relief of poverty and sickness, the advancement of education and religion and the preservation and protection of good health. The MOC Charitable Foundation is a member of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and a member of the Fundraising Standards Board. The MOC Charitable Foundation is established and administered by members of the Grand Priory of the English Tongue of the Military Order of the Collar of St Agatha of Paterṇ. The Order dates from the Crusades and was revived in the XIX century. Members of the Order of the Collar strongly believe that the essence of chivalry in the XXI century is not the adherence to some outmoded and irrelevant practices related to ancient disputes, but honour and service to needy individuals and communities, regardless of creed, race or nationality. The MOC Foundation is strictly regulated by the Charity Commission of England and Wales and as such receives appeals from the community at large. The Trustees report to the Commission yearly, concerning both financial and project issues. The MOC Foundation is also a member of the NCVO, the voice of the voluntary sector in England, and conforms by its guidance on governance and ethical matters. As a further safeguard the MOC Foundation has also joined the Fundraising Standards Board and abides by its compliance regulations. Finally, the oath of service undertaken by members of the Order provides the moral and inner strength driving each Trustee to commit his or her time to worthy causes. Aside from the UK foundation every Grand Priory of the Militare Ordine del Collare is duty-bound to undertake charitable works (although their projects are run wholly independently). Details of some of their projects will be found in the Other Jurisdictions section of this web site. For the last three years we have been able to achieve the almost impossible vision for most charitable organisation of becoming 100% effective. Thanks to our very small running costs and the modest level of reserves accrued, we can now ensure that every penny donated to us goes straight into charitable works. Our funds are mostly raised through fund raising events such as dinners, sponsored walks and other activities. In addition, each member of the Order is duty-bound to donate a yearly sum. All members at local level are also strongly encouraged to organise fund raising events to support the Foundation. The Trustees of the MOC Foundation are professional individuals from a variety of backgrounds ranging from the armed forces, finance, marketing, clergy and the arts. Each project is considered on its merits, applying strict ethical and business criteria when evaluating new operations. Our running costs consist almost entirely of bank charges, annual auditing fees and stationery and postage. You do not have to be a member of the Militare Ordine del Collare (Military Order of the Collar, MOC) to donate to us. Just as we consider projects from all walks of life and entirely on their merits, we are happy to accept individual or corporate donations. Indeed, with increasing demand for funds it may at times be difficult to decide which organisation should be supported; so donating to us may make us your 'one stop shop' for charitable activities, with complete confidence that all the allocated resources will go exclusively to good causes.
